JAWS 45th Anniversary

I was only 8 years old in the summer of 1975 when I saw the movie JAWS at the theater on 4th of July weekend, and it scared thee living poop out of me! So much so that 40+ years later I still won't go into the water!

So since it's 4th of July weekend, and 6/20/20 was the 45th anniversary of  JAWS I thought this card was the perfect one to post in honor of it scaring the poop out of me...still!

Cone of Shame - Well Played Human

OHmiGosh, that face...the sentiments for the Cone of Shame stamp set almost wrote themselves!
I can't stop myself from laughing whenever I see that dog!

Of course the Puppy Paws background (which are now back in stock) was the perfect background to partner with the NEW Cone of Shame clear stamp set.

The dog and doghouse were stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. I seem to almost always have white feet on both cats and dogs when I color them, I guess I just really like sock feet :).

Once the coloring was completed I hand cut out both images, and added foam tape to the back of just the dog.

  R37, R39, R59

I used one of the NEW Wavy Stitched Squares dies as the black background and sponged on a little white ink for the shading under the dog and doghouse. I like how the images pop off the black, and it's such a cool die cut shape too.

I matted onto a red matte then onto a 5.5 x 5.5 card base

The sentiment (bahhaahaha) was stamped onto one of the Quick Strips dies and wrapped around to the inside of the card. You could also cut it off but I liked the wrapped look for this card.

Can't you almost feel this defeated guys resentment - LOL?!
Hope this gave you a good giggle :o)

Pig Pun Paper Door - Na-Na

These little piggy's from the NEW Pig Puns PAPER DOOR kit just crack me up, they are having so much fun in their pig puddles celebrating their youngness - lol!

The NEW Pig Pun PAPER DOOR has all kinds of coordinated products to make all kinds of cute piggy cards. And for this card I coupled the kit with the NEW Whimsy Stamps PeekaBoo Window 4 die which fits the piggies AND the flies perfectly.

These little flies are just too funny to me, I stamped them and the piggies and colored them with Copic markers:
E50, E51, E33, E25, E11
R20
BG000

I'm loving the designs and feel of the heavy weight papers included in our kits. For this card I used one of the solid browns and tans but later this week I'll be posting cards using some of the super cute patterned ones too.

Who do you have on your birthday card list that you want to say Na-Na too that you're younger than they are - lol?!

PAPER DOOR - Pig Puns Puddles

This little piggy likes to play in puddles and the NEW Pig Puns PAPER DOOR kit is already making a big splash!

If you want to make your own puddle jumping piggy card, everything needed to make it (except for ink) is included in this months kit.

To start out with, I used the "Puddles" stencil and distress oxide inks to sponge the splash onto white card stock that's included in the kit.

Then I stamped the little piggy (he's a "pig in a slicker"...get it - yes, you know that I'm a total DORK??!) onto the same white card stock and used regular distress inks to watercolor him.

(Tip) when water coloring on regular card stock you need to use way less water and don't go over areas because your paper will breakdown and pill too easily.

You can certainly use watercolor paper for this card but I wanted to use just the PAPER DOOR kit contents for today's project.

Once I had my little piggy colored I used the matching die to cut him out and added foam tape to the back for a little dimension.

Then I stamped and colored just the umbrella a second time and hand cut it out without leaving any white edge and added foam tape to the back of that piece too.

The OINK sentiment is part of the 3x4 additional piggy stamp set included in the Pig Puns PAPER DOOR kit too. These kits are a crazy value, you get $50+ worth of product for just $29.95!

I love how the piggy looks like he's really puddle jumping and having such a good time.

Oh and I can't forget the cute little fly and his trail, is it weird that I think these flies are so cute...I mean cute flies - ewww?!

Our PAPER DOOR kits have been selling out quickly...just sayin' don't be mad at me if you miss it...I warned ya - LOL

Hope you have a great day!

CAUTION! Dog Slobber

Today is National PUPPY Day!
Proceed with CAUTION there's Dog Slobber ahead...

This little guy from the Caution Dog Slobber clear stamp set is just so happy, his silly expression makes me smile! You can see another card I made using this set HERE.

I stamped him with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink on Canson cold pressed watercolor paper and used Faber Castell watercolor pencils to color him.  Then die-cut him out with the matching Caution Dog Slobber die set.

I stamped the sign and sentiment with the same ink and actually just cut that out by hand but there is a matching die included in the die set for that too.

I then stamped the caution sign 3 more times and hand cut just the top caution part on all 3 of them. I glued 2 of them under the dog and the third one I popped up on foam tape and put on the sign for some dimension. And of course I had to add a little glitter to his tongue and drool - lol

The dog and triangle are popped up on foam tape for dimension too. And to finish I glued onto a dark pink matte and then to a dark brown card base.

I hope you are enjoying National Puppy Day with your furbabies?!

Crazy for Chocolate Diet

DIET is a four letter word that you must wash your mouth out after saying to teach yourself a good lesson!  And for today's post, I have for you a zero calorie, clean and simple Crazy for Chocolate card for your enjoyment.

I stamped my images using Memento black ink so I could safely color them using my Copic markers.  After I colored them I cut them out using the matching Crazy for Chocolate die set.  (note) The bonbon wrapper could also be a peanut butter cup if colored differently ;o)

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia (IMHO - versafine ink is the absolute best ink for fine detail and sentiments).  I used a silver Sharpie on the candy wrapper "foil" and mounted everything onto an, ummm, chocolate colored card base.

BTW, both the Crazy for Chocolate stamp set and die set are on sale right now for a limited time.

Triple Scoop of Penguin POOP!

Did you miss out on the limited edition Penguin Farts Paper Door kit last month?

Well if you can't have Penguin Farts how about Penguin Poop - lol?!

This card was so fun to make and is using all NEW products just released from Whimsy Stamps
I started out with the newest edition to the Peekaboo Window dies called Peekaboo Window 3 and cut that out of white card stock.

I also cut a second one out in black card stock for the "shadow" behind the sentiment and saved the black frame to use on another project.

I stamped the chubby little penguins form the Penguin Poop set and colored them with Zig markers.

Here's the triple scoop of Penguin Poop masquerading as ice cream - tee hee.

And for the large opening in the Peekaboo Window 3 I added a piece of the new "Chilly" 6x6 patterned papers. This paper pack was included in the Penguin Farts Paper Door kit and is now available for general sale.

Waddle on over to the Whimsy Store and get you some Penguin Poop they're flying out the door!
