Farmhouse Vases and Wreaths

If you love farmhouse as much as I do be sure to check out the Whimsy Stamps Farmhouse Collection.  For my post today I've combined Farmhouse Vases with Farmhouse Wreaths and a sprinkling of Farmhouse Greenery stencil too.  There are rubber background stamps, clear stamp sets and a couple of stencils in this collection.  Its the perfect match for us farmhouse loving stampers ;o) and for the farmhouse lovin' peeps we want to make cards for.

To start this project I used the super cool Straight Edger dies to create the stitched border around the card base.  Then I stamped the Farmhouse Wreath with Memento London Fog ink and colored it with Copic markers.

The sentiment from Farmhouse Wreaths was stamped with Versafine black ink for a nice crisp image.

Then I used some green ink on green cardstock to stencil on the Farmhouse Greenery grass.  I glued it onto the card base leaving a little of the top portion without glue so I could tuck in the milk jug.  The milk jug is from Farmhouse Vases and I stamped it with grey ink and hand cut it out.

The cows (I love cows) are also from Farmhouse Vases, the little one was stamped directly on the card base and the big one was stamped with black ink on a scrap of white cardstock and hand cut out.

Oh and the big cow is popped up on foam tape for some added dimension.
Hope you have a sweet day every day :o).

Cranky OLD FART Back in Stock

Old Fart is BACK IN STOCK now, but you might want to hurry because this set sells out almost as fast as it goes back into inventory!  If it's sold out you can request to be emailed as soon as it comes back in stock again.

I stamped the cranky Old Fart lady with Memento ink on to white card stock and colored her (all but her skirt) with Copic markers.  I stamped the Gingham Background with pink ink on a scrap piece of white card stock then I stamped the Old Fart lady in black ink on top of that.  I cut out just the skirt portion from the gingham and glued that onto the skirt area of the Copic colored image.
This technique is called Paper Piecing.

I remember seeing this technique for the first time over 25 years ago and it totally blew my mind!  I could not for the life of me figure out how the stamper achieved it.  To this day it's one of my favorite techniques. :o)

For the stripey background panel I used the Farmhouse Fabric background stamp and stamped it with Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink.  I can see this stamp becoming one of my go-to backgrounds for a long time to come.

I stamped the sentiment (there are some really funny ones in this set) on a scrap piece of pink card stock and cut it at an angle.  I also added a Summer Breeze Enamel Dot  to the end opposite end.  I also added a little bit of chalk shadowing under the lady and her walker.

I stamped the Birthday sentiment with Versafine black ink.  And for a finishing touch I added some Glossy Accent adhesive to her glasses so they looked like real glasses ;o)

PAPER DOOR Thank You

I'm having so much fun with the April PAPER DOOR card kit from Whimsy Stamps.  Here's another card idea for you to make with your own PAPER DOOR kit.

All the supplies to create this card are included in your PAPER DOOR kit except for black Versafine ink and the Shaker Maker die also available from Whimsy Stamps.  You can view an unboxing video HERE to see everything included in the PAPER DOOR kit this month.

I used the pink and blue distress markers included in the kit to make my own purple ink to watercolor the flowers (watercolor paper included).  The leaves were also watercolored with the included green distress marker (there's a total of 3 distress markers in the kit).  I also used the green marker to ink up the grass stamp that I stamped along the bottom.

I cut the smallest rectangle from the Shaker Maker die then embossed it with the included embossing folder (I love this EF!).  I fussy cut the flowers and popped up the frame and both flowers with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiment was stamped with black Versafine ink.  I cut the scrumptious purple glitter cardstock to 4.25x5.5 and glued it to the front of a white card base.  The neutral cardstock included in the kit is such a nice heavy weigh stock, thicker than most card stock.

If you'd like to make your own version or copy of this card you'll need to order your PAPER DOOR right away since they are only available until 4/25/18 and won't be available again.  There's LOTS of additional PAPER DOOR inspiration on the Whimsy Blog and Facebook group too.

Unconditional Love So Sorry

For this pet sympathy card I combined two stamp sets from the Whimsy Stamps Rainbow Bridge Collection.  Here is Unconditional Love and Paws to Remember; the entire Rainbow Bridge Collection complements one another and you can mix-n-match any of them.

I stamped the paw from Unconditional Love in a light blue ink.

The bone dog tag and the sentiment (also from Unconditional Love) were both heat embossed with silver embossing powder and fussy cut out.

I also heat embossed one of the dog silhouette stamps from the Paws to Remember set with silver embossing powder and fussy cut it out.

Both the dog tag and dog were popped up with a double stack of foam tape for extra dimension.

If you're looking for the largest selection of mix-n-match pet sympathy stamp sets anywhere, you can find them HERE.
