JAWS 45th Anniversary

I was only 8 years old in the summer of 1975 when I saw the movie JAWS at the theater on 4th of July weekend, and it scared thee living poop out of me! So much so that 40+ years later I still won't go into the water!

So since it's 4th of July weekend, and 6/20/20 was the 45th anniversary of  JAWS I thought this card was the perfect one to post in honor of it scaring the poop out of me...still!

To start off, I stamped one of the sharks from the Snark Attack stamp set onto the bottom portion of an A2 white matte.

To color the shark I used "faded jeans, and hickory smoke" distress inks and sponged it on with an eye shadow applicator sponge.

I masked off the top portion with sticky notes and then sponged on the "water" using a few different distress inks (stormy sky, shaded lilac, faded jeans, and salty ocean). I sponged directly over the shark with the same colors but used much less pressure over him.

I removed the sticky notes and stamped the swimmer with black ink, then sponged on white ink (with the eye shadow sponge) on the lower portion of the girl. I also added several white dots all around her with a white gel pen.

I die cut the JAWS letters using the Bold ABC's die set, and glued them to the top of the card.

To complete my JAWS anniversary card, I stamped the Snark Attack sentiment with black ink, and added white gel pen to the sharks teeth and eye. Then glued the finished matte to the front of a black A2 card base.

Did JAWS scare you as much as it scared me, or are you going swimming this weekend?!
Dunt dunt, dunt dunt, dunt dunt...!!

Cats vs Dogs

Are you Team Cat, or Team Dog...let the debate begin?!

I started out using the Wonky Windows 3 die and cut 4 different card stock colors (black, white, green, and blue). I used only the black frame, and one of each of the black, white, green, and blue window pieces. I just kept the left over pieces for a future project.

I stamped the Super Cats cat and colored him with Copic markers (C7, C3, C0, YG25, R29, R20, R30) then fussy cut him out.
I stamped the VS burst and colored that with copic markers (Y13, Y19) and fussy cut that out as well.

Then I stamped the Super Dogs dog and colored him with Copic markers (W00, W2, W3, W4, W6, R29, R30, B21, R29, C7)  and fussy cut him out.

For the sentiments I heat embossed some of them with white embossing powder on black card stock. And others were black ink on white card stock.

I glued the black Wonky Window 3 frame onto a white card base and added the 4 different colored windows inside their applicable openings. Then added the images and sentiments. Several pieces are popped up with single and double layers of foam tape for lots of dimension.

So, whatcha think, who wins Team Cat or Team Dog?...

Super Dad

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

My dad is 84 years old and was a career compounding pharmacist up until just 6 months ago. He started out as a pharmacist in the ARMY and has spent over 60 years working hard every single day in the same profession. He's been the greatest example of a strong work ethic that I've ever seen (thank you Dad). He's sharp as a tack, and I dare you to try and keep up with him at a theme park, he's the youngest 84 year old I know and I'm blessed to have him in my life...he's my SUPER DAD!

My dad's favorite color is blue so of course that was an easy color choice for his card.

I used the new Whimsy Stamps Comic Burst die to cut out the blue frame and cloud.

I cut "DAD" out from some silver paper that was in my scrap pile using the Bold ABC die set. I popped the "A" up on foam tape for some dimension.
The star was die cut with the same paper and the Primitive Shaker Shapes die set. I also used the same silver paper in the little confetti openings.

The "super" sentiment is from the NEW Super Dogs clear stamp set, I just stamped and hand cut it out popping it up on foam tape on top of the star.

I adhered everything to a white card base and it was done.

I hope you like it Daddy, I miss you, and love you SO MUCH...Happy Father's Day!

And Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there, I hope you have a wonderful day.
