Manure Happens

Well, that's one of the nicer ways of putting it isn't it - lol?!  For this card I started out with a white piece of card stock and sponged on some green ink with the Farmhouse Greenery stencil.  Then I wrapped around some gingham ribbon (from my stash) and matted onto a black card base.

The cow and sentiment are from the Farmhouse Vases set and were simply stamped in black ink.

Hope you enjoyed this play on words using the Farmhouse Vases stamp set.  Have a great day!

Salt Life Eclipse

The Seashell Background is a must-have for all your "salt life" projects, it's perfect for beachy backgrounds and for eclipse cards like this one.
For this card I heat embossed the background in white on watercolor paper.  Then I used distress inks and the wet on wet water coloring technique to "float" on the color variations.

Once the background was dry I used the New Bold ABC dies and cut out the SALT letters.  Then I matted the background onto a black card base and attached the letters with foam tape.  I offset the letters so a little of the black would show through so the letters would pop more.

The "LIFE" sentiment is from the Farmhouse Vases set and it was stamped in black on a scrap of white cardstock and cut at an angle.  The 3 little glittery dots are (aptly named) Ivory Seashell Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Do you live the Salt Life...maybe you're doing something salty this weekend?  Whatever your plans happen to be salty or not, I hope you have a great day.

Scripture Splash

Today I'm sharing a card from the Whimsy Stamps June release using the Stained Glass Scriptures and Splash clear stamp sets. I started out using distress inks to water color my background then used a heat tool to dry it (because I can never wait for it to dry on its own).  Once it was dry I stamped the waves and splash with Archival black ink.  Then went back and added extra color to to waves and splash with more distress ink after I stamped it.

On a separate piece of watercolor paper I stamped the sailboat and colored with distress inks.  Once dry (yep, with a heat tool ;) I hand cut it out and popped it up on the sail only with foam tape.  I did the same with the clouds too.

I decided where I wanted everything to be positioned and then stamped the Stained Glass Scripture after I adhered the sailboat and clouds.  To complete the card I glued the finished scene onto a black card base.

I just like how this card "feels", I hope you like it too.

Ocean Child

I'm having so much fun with all the great beachy themed products Whimsy Stamps has released the past couple of months.  Here is one of my favorite mermaid images from the Let's Be Mermaids clear stamp set.

I stamped the seaweed and bubbles on my main card base and colored them with Copic markers.  I also used Copics to color in the sand and water in the background.

The mermaid was stamped separately, colored with Copics and hand cut out.

For the frame I used the Mermaid Scales stencil and sponged on some green and blue ink onto a full piece of card stock.  Then I cut out the opening using the largest oval from the Stitched Oval die set.  Now I have a leftover piece to use on another project later ;).

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink.  The mermaid was popped up on foam tape and tucked into the corner.  I left her foot and fin loose which creates  movement when you see the card in real life.

For the final touch I added some Glamour Dust (love) to the mermaid fin and the bubbles.

PAPER DOOR Thank You

I have another PAPER DOOR Beaucoup Bouquet idea to share with you today.  There are like a gazillon projects ideas floating around with this kit to give you lots of inspiration.

The sentiment is from Farmhouse Wreaths and I think it turns this card into a totally different look.  The Beaucoup Bouquet flowers work with all kinds of different sentiments and fonts.

The flower and leaves were colored with the distress inks that come in the July PAPER DOOR kit and I cut them out with the matching dies also included.

I stamped the flowers two additional times, colored them then hand cut the two smaller center portions and popped them up on foam tape.  This gives the flowers lots of dimension.

The white panel was cut using a Wavy Edgers die.   And the luscious blue paper is included in the kit. The July Beaucoup Bouquet PAPER DOOR kit is available only for a few more days (until 7/25) once it's gone it's gone for good.  You can get your PAPER DOOR and the other products used on this project at Whimsy Stamps.
