Slimline Five Frames Shaker

Have you seen all the cool Whimsy Stamps Slimline dies for making tall & skinny cards?

Here's another one that has just been released called Slimline Five Frames, and I already LOVE it!

I made my shaker card by first using the new Slimline Five Frames die and die cut 3 each of the five green card stock colors, and one white one.
I added a clear acetate to the back of the white frame and lined all the openings with Shaker Maker foam tape (and set it aside).
If you like making shaker cards the Shaker Maker foam tape is must have, it's thick enough that you only need one layer. I don't ever want to make another shaker card without it.

I used the new Leaves background and black ink to stamp each of the green card stock pieces (for the inside) and glued them, spaced according to the frame openings to a black card base.

Then I added a small pile of Lucky Charms Sparkletz to each opening and adhered the white frame on top.

I stacked and glued together 3 of the stitched frame pieces for each color green and glued them to their matching windows.

And lastly I used the Bold ABC die set to add the HAPPY letters to the front of each opening. The letters are sized perfectly to fit inside the Slimline Five Frames windows, how cool is that?!

Hope you have started making Slimline cards, they are so much fun and totally addictive!
Have a HAPPY day!

Less Stress More Crayons

Not only is this blue crayon screaming to be heard (ha), I felt the Crayons stamp set was screaming to be put together with the awesome new Slimline Five Frames die from the innovators of Slimline dies...Whimsy Stamps.

I started out by die cutting 3 Slimline Five Frames from white card stock. I cut 3 because I wanted to have extra frames to stack for the blue crayon.

I stamped the Crayons border image a couple of times on white card stock and colored with Copic markers (RV14, RV25, FV2, YG05, YG07, Y18, Y13), then fussy cut them out.

I stamped the main screaming crayon onto one of the inside pieces from the Five Frames die and colored with copic markers (B02, B04, C3).

I glued the outside frame portion of the Slimline Five Frames to a black slimline card base (8.5 x 3.5), then placed the colored crayons inside each window.

After I placed the crayons inside the openings, I added small strips of black/white striped paper which is from the 6x6 Hocus Pocus paper pack. Once they were glued in place I then glued the stitched frames on top.

For the center image I stacked and glued together 3 of the stitched frames and placed that in the opening. Then I stacked and glued together 5 of the smallest insert pieces with the crayon image on top.
I really like the look of stacked die cuts, it gives a nice clean look, and as a bonus it makes the card sturdier.

For the final touch, I stamped, and heat embossed the sentiments and used the Comic Speech Bubbles die set (love this die set) to cut them out.

Hope you are enjoying all the new Slimline dies Whimsy is releasing, keep checking back, there are many more cool designs coming out soon!

I don't know about you but I could certainly use less stress and MORE CRAYONS in my life ;)
