Elegant Gifts Custom Gift Wrap

The new Elegant Gifts is a 2-step clear stamp set with some really pretty patterns for making your own "wrapping paper".  You can build your "gift boxes" in different sizes/shapes too.  Below are two birthday cards with the same design but I used different colors and different patterns.

For the shorter gift I first stamps the solid rectangle using blue ink then I stamped the pattern on top with black ink. For the tall skinny gift I didn't use the solid rectangle I just stamped the pattern using blue ink onto some white card stock.

I did the same process only for this card I used pink colors and a different one of the patterns.  The solid box tops were stamped with black ink and cut to size.  

The big bows were stamped in their respective ink colors using the solid bow stamp.  Then the outline was stamped using black ink and were fussy cut out.

For the tall gift bow I just inked up the middle portion of the ornate divider stamp that's ink the set and stamped it directly onto the card base.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink, the sentiments in this set are very versatile for several occasions.  I popped up the short gift box with foam tape, mounted onto a black matte then onto a white card base.  Have fun creating your own customized gifts with the Elegant Gifts stamp set from Whimsy Stamps.

You are PAWsome

This happy little guy from Caution Wagging Tail makes me smile.  

I think he looks like a "Beauregard" I can just hear Looney Tunes Foghorn Leghorn calling for him now, "here Beauregard, I say, I say here boy, over here!"

I cut out a basic stitched rectangle and used Versafine ink to stamp the dog image.  I stamped the bowl onto a scrap of white cardstock.  Both images were stamped on plain white cardstock (not watercolor paper).

I used distress inks to watercolor the images.  When not using watercolor paper it's important not to over saturate with your coloring because the regular cardstock will break down too easily.  So I just add a little tiny bit of water and go over any area once or twice at most.

I used the matching Caution Wagging Tail die set to cut out the bowl and popped that up with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiments with versafine ink and mounted onto a black mat and then onto a blue card base.  Oh and I stamped his "wags" for his tail with memento london fog (gray) ink.

Last Chance for Stinkerbell - March Paper Door kit

Thank you FAIRY MUCH to everyone who has ordered the very first edition of PAPER DOOR by Whimsy Stamps!  We're excited to know that so many of you are loving our new kits - YAY!

Paper Door Stinkerbell Birthday Cards without Stinkerbell?!

Here are a couple of quick and easy birthday cards using the Paper Door Stinkerbell card kit.  Except where is Stinkerbell?!  Stay tuned she'll be back in a couple of days to say good-bye because March 25th is the last day this Paper Door kit will be available! 

All the supplies to make this card are included in this months Paper Door Kit.  The exclusive Fireworks stencil, the Stinkerbell sentiment, the beautiful gold, black and white cardstocks, the shimmery gold Delicata ink.  Everything you need (except black ink and adhesive) are included in the kit. 

Same goes for this card everything (except the label die) can be found in the Paper Door Stinkerbell box.  The centers of the fireworks is the gold glitter tape adhered to some scrap paper and punched out with a couple of different hole punches.  The largest one is a standard hole punch and the smaller ones are punched out with a Cropadile.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Top-o-the-mornin' to ya!  I hope your St. Patrick's Day is filled with many blessings.  

Today I have for you an easy card celebrating this fun holiday using the Holiday Occasions stamp set and Flower Flourish stencil.

I used green ink to sponge on the Flower Flourish stenciled background onto white paper.  Then I cut it out with a stitched border die.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Holiday Occasions set with gold embossing powder, this is a really great multi-holiday set for your collection.  

I cut the sentiment out using a spellbinders label die then cut a second label die in black.  I cut out the center portion of the black label and taped each left over piece to the back of of the white label on each side to give it an little extra pop.

The top hat was heat embossed with black embossing powder and I used a gold sharpie to color in the buckle.  I fussy cut it out and attached it directly to the sentiment.

I matted onto a black card base and popped up the sentiment on foam tape for added dimension.

St. Patty's Day Love and Laughter

Here's a bright-n-cheery St. Patty's Day card filled with wishes of love and laughter using the Shamrock Swirls stamp set and Sun Rays stencil.  Happy St.Patty's Day Eve ;o)

I sponged on some bright yellow ink using the Sun Rays stencil then added extra sponging at the bottom portion.

I stamped the shamrock with green ink and die cut it out using a heart die that's in the Crazy for Chocolate die set.  I then die cut a second heart in black using the same die.  I cut the black heart down the center (yikes that sentence sounded scary) so I could "stretch it" then taped it to the back of the white heart to create a layered effect.

The sentiment was stamped using black Versafine ink (my fav for detail).  Then I matted everything onto a black card base.  For a finishing touch I added a single diamond gemstone in the center of the clover.

Shamrock Swirl Wishes

I know it still feels like winter in some places but spring is just around the corner and with it I have some shamrock wishes to share with you today.  This stamp set really lives up to it's name of Shamrock Swirl and I thought it was just screaming for an embossing watercolor technique.

First I heat embossed the big shamrock with white embossing powder on the watercolor paper card base and then again on a separate pieces of watercolor paper.

Then I wet down both papers generously with plain water and used SU! reinkers (pumpkin pie and gumball) to float ink onto the images.  Then I used a heat tool to make it dry faster.

I fussy cut out the greener shamrock and popped it up on foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped with black versafine ink.  And everything was matted onto a black card base.

This is one of my favorite techniques and the Shamrock Swirl is a perfect set for it.  I hope all your shamrock wishes come true!

POOF! Stinkerbell Wishes

POOF!  You're whatever age you want to be!  There are some really cute "POOF" sentiments in the Stinkerbell stamp set that's included in the Paper Door box this month.  

This kit is chock full-o-fun!

I used the Fireworks stencil, Stinkerbell stamp set, and gorgeous papers available only in the March Paper Door kit.  

I wish you could see this card in real life, the gold Delicata ink (included in the March Paper Door kit) is so shimmery and the glitter cardstock and glitter tape also included in the kit add even more dazzle to this card.
