Fresh Friday Goth Girl

Have you heard about (re)Fresh Friday's from Whimsy Stamps? Every Friday on the Whimsy blog our design team shares cards made using a specific combination of previously released products. It's a great way to find inspiration for Whimsy products that you may already have, and to challenge yourself to combine your Whimsy products in different ways.
My post today features the Goth Girl clear stamp set, with 3 different rubber background stamps, a slimline die, and a nested die set...

I started out with the Slimline Marquee die and cut it out 3 times, once in the lime green cardstock (which I also used for my card frame), once with white cardstock, and once with purple cardstock.

Then I stamped the specific insert pieces, all with black ink using the Goth Skulls background, the Curly Q's background, and the Checkerboard Doodle background.

I popped up the Marquee frame with foam tape then adhered the insert pieces flat on my black card base.

The skull is from the Goth Girl set, and I just stamped it in black, and fussy cut it out then popped it up with foam tape too. Oh and I added a Starry Sky Sparkletz to each of his eyes...which fit just right.

To complete my card, I stamped the sentiment (also from Goth Girl), on black card stock and heat embossed it in white. Then I die cut it using the smallest Wavy Nested Frame and glued it to the front.

I hope you enjoyed this combination of fun Whimsy Stamps products and that it inspires you to find new ways to combine your own Whimsy toys too. For more inspiration using some of these products check out this post HERE.
Have a great day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hey there and Happy Valentine's Day!

I have a quick card for you today that starts out with the Formal Lattice stencil. I just randomly sponged on some distress inks (shaded lilac and salty ocean) and then spattered some picked raspberry distress inks on top using a toothbrush to get the fine speckles.

I stamped the upper corner with the dangling hearts from the FaDoodles Too stamp set (designed by the lovely and ridiculously talented Faye Wynn-Jones) and then colored them in with picked raspberry distress marker.

The sentiments are from the You're My Always clear stamp set. If you're not familiar with this collection of sentiments they are really versatile, there are several sets that you can build your own sentiments with and many of the sets work interchangeably too. You can check out all of them HERE.

Have a great weekend and I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day too. xoxo
