Quick Checkerboard Doodles Birthday Card

Whaddya think of the NEW Whimsy Stamps Checkerboard Doodles background stamp?

I'm lovin' this stamp, it's so much fun and forgiving of any "mistakes"! And talk about quick cards, this background along with one of the Whimsy Stamps Word and Shadow dies makes for a speedy 10 minute card.

I simply stamped the Checkerboard Doodle background with black ink on a plain white card matte and colored the sections with colored pencils. You could use any color medium for varied effects.

Then I used the Celebrate Word and Shadow die for the sentiment and popped it up on foam tape.

Then matted it onto a black card base and it was done...super easy peasy and only two products!

Celebrate Scratchy Plaid

I absolutely adore plaids and tartans and the NEW Whimsy Stamps Scratchy Plaid background stamp is quickly becoming one of my favs.

I first heat embossed the Scratchy Plaid background with Versamark clear ink and white embossing powder onto a white card matte.

Then I randomly sponged on some distress inks (mermaid lagoon and mustard seed).

On a scrap piece of white card stock I sponged on some of the same distress ink colors then used the largest shadow from the NEW Celebrate Word and Shadow die to cut it out.

Then I cut out the smaller shadow from black card stock and lastly the word from white card stock and stacked them all respectively.

The little flowers were cut from the Build a Garden die set. I lightly sponged on some more distress ink onto some scrap white card stock and cut out the smaller flowers from that. Then die cut the larger ones from black and layered them adding a pearl to each.

To complete my project I matted onto a black card base and popped up the "celebrate" word on foam tape for added dimension.
Have a great day!

Pig Pun Paper Door - Na-Na

These little piggy's from the NEW Pig Puns PAPER DOOR kit just crack me up, they are having so much fun in their pig puddles celebrating their youngness - lol!

The NEW Pig Pun PAPER DOOR has all kinds of coordinated products to make all kinds of cute piggy cards. And for this card I coupled the kit with the NEW Whimsy Stamps PeekaBoo Window 4 die which fits the piggies AND the flies perfectly.

These little flies are just too funny to me, I stamped them and the piggies and colored them with Copic markers:
E50, E51, E33, E25, E11
R20
BG000

I'm loving the designs and feel of the heavy weight papers included in our kits. For this card I used one of the solid browns and tans but later this week I'll be posting cards using some of the super cute patterned ones too.

Who do you have on your birthday card list that you want to say Na-Na too that you're younger than they are - lol?!

Bunny Buddies Birthday Wishes

Aren't these little bunnies so sweet, this clear stamp set is called Bunny Buddies and is part of the Whimsy Stamps April new release.

The color combo for this card was inspired by the TV show Big Bang Theory, it's the colors from Howard and Bernadette's living room decor - lol

Whimsy Stamps has a great collection of rubber background stamps that give just the right amount of texture to complement so many styles of stamps. I love our background stamps as they basically make your own custom patterned paper in which you're only limited by your imagination.
So for my two backgrounds (the pocket and the area behind the bunnies) I'm using the Burlap background and the Messy Mesh background.

I stamped the Burlap BG in navy blue ink onto a denim blue card stock. Then stamped the Bunny Buddies and hand cut out just the pocket, then stamped the wrinkles onto the pocket.

I stamped the bunnies again onto white card stock and colored with Copic markers, then hand cut them out, cutting off the pocket below them.

I lined the bunnies up behind the pocket and taped them into place leaving the little paw and ear over the pockets edge. I added foam tape to the back and placed on the Messy Mesh background. Then I added foam to the back of the heart and placed that on the pocket for even more dimension.

The blue frame was cut using the Rectangle Shaker Maker die (a staple die that I use often).

There are several sentiments in the Bunny Buddies set that can be combined for different occasions so I chose "Birthday Wishes" and stamped that onto one of the Quick Strips dies (another staple die I use ALL the time;). Then lastly I matted everything onto a sand colored card base.

I hope you have a great day!

Bike Week 2019 Kickstart My Heart

Get your motor runnin'...head out on the highway...lookin' for adventure...

It's Bike Week in Daytona Florida an event that my brother Dean has gone to pretty much every year since 1972 so I made this card for him.

I used the Biker Kickstart My Heart stamp set and first stamped the bike and colored it with Copic markers.

I masked off the bike then used the Swish Stencil and sponged on some yellow and orange inks for the background. The Swish stencil is so cool isn't it, it can look like fire or ice just by changing the colors you use.

I stamped the plaque and colored it with the same Copic markers I used on the bike. Then stamped the sentiments with black and orange inks. One of the many cool things about the Kickstart Your Heart stamp set is you can customize it with several different sayings and also dates significant to the recipient, like 1972 is totally significant to my brother.

The last thing I stamped was the checkerboard edges and I also added a little grey chalk under the tires so it gave the illusion of depth.

The Kickstart My Heart stamp set is a great set for your collection to make cards for the bikers in your life. And with the stamp set you can customize your bike and your biker cards (tee hee).
Live Free Ride Hard (and be safe...said no biker ever - lol be seriously...be safe and enjoy the ride).

Stinkerbell is Back!

Sheeee's baaaack STINKERBELL is now available as an individual stamp set! You asked for her to be let out of the vault and here she is...the Stinkerbell's aren't the only ones who grants wishes ;) tee hee!

For both of these cards I stamped the Stinkerbell's and colored them with Copic markers, then I hand cut them out.

For the green one I stamped and colored a second one and cut out just her dress, then popped it up with foam tape for dimension. I also cut a frame with the Rectangle Shaker Maker die for the border.

There are a couple fireworks images in the stamp set but the Fireworks Stencil is the perfect addition to use with this set.

I hope you're glad to see Stinkerbell, she's happy to be out and about granting wishes again.
