Sleepy Sloth Tropical Oasis

This little Sleepy Sloth sure looks like he's pretty contented relaxing in his tropical oasis.

I started out with a kraft matte and stamped the stars from the NEW Sleepy Sloth clear stamp set onto the top portion.

Then I used the Burlap Background (love the subtle texture this pattern adds), and stamped it onto a Pierced and Stitched Circle.

For the bottom portion of the card I used the NEW Build-an-Island Die Set and cut it out twice, once from brown card stock and once from green card stock. Then just cut off the green palm fronds and layered them on top of the brown fronds.

The Sleepy Sloth was stamped on white card stock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. Then I layered him onto the burlap circle with foam tape and also added foam tape to the circle as well.

The sentiment was stamped on the same kraft card stock and popped up on foam tape for added dimension. The I matted everything onto a dark brown card base.

My mojo wasn't mojoing very well when I started on this card but I think it turned out pretty cute...what do you think?

I hope you relax and enjoy your day!

Earth Day Build a Garden

HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Thank you Mother Earth for giving us such beautiful and valuable things that we literally could not live without.

I just love how many cute little scenes can be made with the Whimsy Stamps NEW Build a Garden die set. For today's card I have a little blue bird watering her flower garden.

I started off by cutting out a bunch of the flowers and leaves, and the strip on the bottom from the NEW Pretty Pastels 6x6 paper pack. I just love these new papers they are more like card stock weight and have such a pretty sheen to them.

I cut out the little birdie from white card stock and sponged on blue ink and used a black marker for his eye and beak.

The watering can was cut from gray paper then sponged with black ink and I added a little white pencil here and there

I arranged the flowers and added Enamel Dots to their centers and popped up a couple with foam tape. The little birdie and watering can are also popped up on foam tape. The sentiment is from last months Paper Door kit.

I hope you like the Build a Garden card and I hope you enjoy this beautiful EARTH DAY!

I used a cotton ball with a light blue chalk pastels and wiped on a soft blue sky

I cut out a few clouds from the new Up in the Clouds die set and placed them randomly on the card popping a couple up with foam tape.

And lastly I stamped the sentiment and matted everything onto a teal card base.

Crazy for Chocolate Diet

DIET is a four letter word that you must wash your mouth out after saying to teach yourself a good lesson!  And for today's post, I have for you a zero calorie, clean and simple Crazy for Chocolate card for your enjoyment.

I stamped my images using Memento black ink so I could safely color them using my Copic markers.  After I colored them I cut them out using the matching Crazy for Chocolate die set.  (note) The bonbon wrapper could also be a peanut butter cup if colored differently ;o)

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia (IMHO - versafine ink is the absolute best ink for fine detail and sentiments).  I used a silver Sharpie on the candy wrapper "foil" and mounted everything onto an, ummm, chocolate colored card base.

BTW, both the Crazy for Chocolate stamp set and die set are on sale right now for a limited time.

Thank You Friend

The Whimsy Stamps February NEW release is hot off the press and it's filled with fun and creative stamping toys! What a great way to kick off the weekend :)!

For my post today I'm highlighting the NEW Friend Word and Shadow die. This is such a cool die, you can use it with or without the complementing You're Too Kind stamp set. And there are different combinations for the shadows. The Thanks Word and Shadow die released last month works the same way and has been so popular we had to make a matching Friend to go along with it ;).

I first stamped the Buffalo Plaid background with grey ink on a lime green card stock. Then I used the (smallest) Stitched Oval die to cut the oval. I glued the background on a black card base then adhered the oval with foam tape.

I used the You're Too Kind stamp set and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder then I cut it out using one of the Quick Strips dies (one of my fav die sets!). I just trimmed off the left edge and glued it down flat on the card. Then added an Enamel Dot for another touch of lime green.

I cut out a white Friend shadow (the un stitched one) and the Friend word in black. Then glued that on top of the popped up oval to complete my card.

Be sure to shop the new release early because things sell out FAST!

We are constantly re-stocking items and have a "notify me" option for each product when they are back in stock.

Happy Stamping!

Wonderful FaDoodle Friend

Today I have a cheerful card to share with you that's combining 3 different stamp sets. I just love how Whimsy Stamps products works so well together and complement one another.

I started out stamping the corners of the card with the FaDoodles Too checkerboard stamp and black ink. Isn't FaDoodles such a fun name?! This clear stamp set is by the amazingly talented (and my dear friend) Faye Wynn-Jones

Then I stamped the flowers from A Girls Best Friend, colored them with Copic markers and cut them out. I placed the flowers at the corners covering up the empty spaces and popped a couple up with foam tape.

I used the You're My Favorite stamp set for the sentiment and stamped that in black Versafine ink, then matted onto a black card base.

Whimsy has several sets like this that allow you to build your own sentiments with countless different combinations. They're great sets that go a long way for your card sentiment needs.

Hope you have a WONDERFUL day!
