This is a card that I demo'd at the Whimsy Retreat a couple weeks ago. I used the new Soul Mutt stamp set combined with the Farmhouse Fabric background.
I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to watercolor the image and cut it out with one of the new Stitched Ovals dies.
the sentiment is from the new An Unbreakable Bond stamp set. The paw was stamped with distress ink.
The spots were stamped on after the image dried. The Soul Mutt set has several different spots so you can create a unique dog every time.
For the cool chevron stripes on the sides of the card I stamped the Farmhouse Fabric background (one of my favs), with kraft ink on white cardstock then I cut it into strips as shown in the photo above.
And depending on which way you adhere the strips you can get a totally different look...
see...I used the same cut strips for both of these cards but glued the left one on with the wide part of the strip toward the edges of the card and for the card on the right the strips are glued on with the thin part of the strips toward the edge of the card. One stamp two results ;).
