Sleepy Hollow Scarecrow Greetings

This Sleepy Hollow scarecrow looks like he takes his job pretty seriously.  I'm not so sure I'd want to be in a cornfield with him at night or even during the day for that matter - eek!

For the background of this card I used distress inks on watercolor paper.  I started with a wet paintbrush and loaded it with purple and a tad of burgundy watercolor.  I made broad sweeping strokes starting each stroke at the top and "swept" each near the center of the paper.  I did not wet the paper first.  I dried that coat with a heat tool then did the same from the opposite end with orange and a little yellow mixed in.
I love how it turned out...spoooooky.

I used black ink and stamped the little line of grass from the Sleepy Hollow stamp set across as a horizon then I sponged in the (blacked) bottom portion.  I used a black marker and made additional/longer grass sticking up.  The scarecrow's jacket was colored with watercolor pencils and his face with SU! markers.  I think his eyes look like candy corns or perhaps on fire if you prefer your jack-0-lanterns burning aglow ;).

I used the matching Sleepy Hollow die set to cut out the scarecrow and blackened the bottom of the stick he sits on.  This die set is super cool, it cuts out the scarecrow from the stamp set but the tree is a die on it's own and is much larger than the stamp image.
The "Spooky" word die is also included.  It's a very unique die set combo ;).

I glued the scarecrow flat to the card but I left his creepy hands free so he can reach out and
I stamped the sentiment from the Grim Reaper set and matted onto orange then onto a black card.
