Franken Schmutz Brains

I made this card for my BESTIE Donna who recently graduated with a degree in histology.  I admire her so much for going back to school and starting a new career.  She graduated the very same month that her daughter graduated from high school (congrats to you too Maddie :O).  LOVE you both!

You may be asking yourself why Franken Schmutz combined with a Joe Zombie sentiment is the perfect match for Donna's card?  Well first she and I share a LOVE for all things Halloween, macabre, horror, etc., second histology is all sciency and stuff and she'll be working in a LaBORatory and third she is really, really wicked smaaat.

The "Really DAHLING" sentiment and Frank are from the Franken Schmutz set and the "I love you for your brains" is from the Joe Zombie set (Joe is on sale at the time of this posting).

The doodles are from the FaDoodles Too set by the fabulous Faye Wynn-Jones. And I also used the new Notched Rectangle die set.

I also used the Franken Schmutz die set to die cut Frank and added some brads (or should I say bolts) from my stash.
CONGRATS again Donna love you SO MUCH! XOXOOOO

PAPER DOOR Corny Candy Corns Missing

For today's Corny Candy Corns PAPER DOOR project I combined several PAPER DOOR elements with other Whimsy products but if you notice there's not a candy corn in site.

The products from the PAPER DOOR kit are the orange/white striped treat bag, the cool glimmery orange paper, the Tombstone Tags dies, the black card stock, the white sugar card stock and the black/white striped ribbon.

The skulls are from a (favorite) die set called Dracula's Coffin. If you don't already have this die set it's a great one for a variety of Halloween elements.

The sentiment is from a stamp set called Grim Reaper (currently on sale) and I used Stazon black ink on the orange glimmer paper because that paper has a slick surface.
The skulls were cut from the white sugar glitter card stock that is also included in the PAPER DOOR kit.

I hope you're enjoying this months Corny Candy Corns PAPER DOOR kit for all your Halloween cards and treats.

PAPER DOOR - Corny Candy Corn with Peanuts

This is one of my favorite projects I've made with the Corny Candy Corn PAPER DOOR kit.  This kit has lots of different treat bags, tags and boxes including these clear bags that I used for today's project.

I used watercolor paper to stamp the candy corns then water colored them with distress inks. Then I cut them out with their matching dies.
I also cut out two of the (middle sized) Tombstone Tags from black cardstock and from watercolor paper.  Then I washed on some distress ink on the white one so it would match with the tops of the candy corns.

There are a bunch of  candy corn face expressions that you can customize.  Some are cute, some funny, some grumpy, almost any expression you can think of can be made with this silly stamp set.

The last two words on this sentiment "you're welcome" is so applicable, trust me, even if you despise candy corn I think you just might change your mind if you try this recipe. (disclaimer: please do not try this recipe if you are allergic to any of its ingredients ;).

Finally I added my mixture to the clear treat bag and secured it with this (love) black and white striped ribbon.  If you want to make these treats for your family/friends you can get you Corny Candy Corns PAPER DOOR kit HERE.  It's only available until 9/25/18!

Let me know if you like the recipe!  Happy Halloween Season!

Paper Door Corny Candy Corns Trick or Treat

For today's post I'm using the Whimsy Stamps September PAPER DOOR kit called "Corny Candy Corns" and a new clear stamp set called You're My Boo.

This months PAPER DOOR kit is all Halloween themed for treats and cards.  The kits comes with 12 treat bags (4 clear, 4 orange/white stripe and 4 black/white polka dot) you can see everything included HERE.  So for my card today I cut apart two of the treat bags and used them as patterned paper.

If you're looking for a Halloween sentiment set that you can create all kinds of custom sentiments like the one on my card, be sure to check out the You're My Boo set.

For the glittery orange polka dots I used some of the pretty paper that comes with the PAPER DOOR kit.  I just used different hole punches and glued the circles onto my card.

Check out the Corny Candy Corns PAPER DOOR kit, it's available only through 9/25/18 unless it sells out first.  So don't risk it, get yours today and start making you Halloween goodies and cards for friends and family today.

Stained Glass Tiffany Window Scripture

I have another Whimsy Stamps stained glass card to share with you today, it's the Stained Glass Tiffany Window and it's one of my personal favorites from the collection.

The Stained Glass Scriptures sentiment set was made to complement the Tiffany Window stamp and all of the sentiments fit into the oval area.  But for this card I decided to use the smallest oval from the Basic Stitched Ovals die set for a little added dimension.

I stamped the image with Memento black ink and colored it with Copic markers.  I think the Stained Glass Collection stamps just scream for Copics but I've seen many others colored with different mediums that look gorgeous too.

I designed the Stained Glass Scriptures set using many of my personal favorite scriptures.  I hope you like the collection that I put together and that you find inspiration in them as well.

Have a blessed day!
