Whimsy Retreat 2018 - Unconditional Love

This is a card I designed for a make-n-take at the Whimsy Retreat last weekend.  I combined the Unconditional Love stamp set with the NEW An Unbreakable Bond set.

The paw is from the Unconditional Love set and the sentiment is from the An Unbreakable Bond set.

the technique is super easy, just stamp your image (solid images work best) with Versamark ink then swipe on pastel chalk with a cotton ball and the colors pop!

For the lighter pastel card I also used our new Stitched Oval dies, I love this set of ovals they are each just the right size to accommodate so many of our Whimsy images and they have stitching on the oval itself and on the negative portion too.

All of the Rainbow Bridge Collection sets can be combined with one another so you have countless options with for all of your animal lover cards.
Have a great day!

PAPER DOOR Ticket

Are you enjoying all the masculine card ideas the Whimsy team has been sharing with you using the Enjoy the Journey PAPER DOOR kit, I know I have been.

This PAPER DOOR kit is just so rich and elegant and makes those often a challenge masculine cards super easy.  Everything on this card (except for black ink and adhesive) was created using this months kit.  There's also step-by-step instructions for this card and many others included as a PDF when you purchase the kit.

I couldn't capture it in the photo but the blue card stock is luscious it has a wide stripe to and a soft sheen, maybe you can see it a little bit in the photo above.  But even if I could capture the textures on all of these gorgeous papers in the kit it still wouldn't do them justice compared to seeing them in real life.  You'll see what I mean when you order your PAPER DOOR kits, we're getting raves about our kits.

I hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

PAPER DOOR Enjoy the Journey Bookmark

Here's a small gift idea for the person in your life that enjoys reading actual books (lol)!
It's also a make-n-take that the Whimsy Retreat attendees got to make this weekend and it was all made using the PAPER DOOR Enjoy the Journey kit.

The simple coloring was done with Distress Crayons that are included in the kit. And the brad is just the right size for the front of the steam engine, also included in the kit.

You can get your own PAPER DOOR Enjoy the Journey kit to make these bookmarks but you only have 2 more days left because after June 25, 2018 this kit will be gone for good.

I hope you are making good memories on your journey :O).

And be sure to visit all the sponsors blog that are participating in the blog hop for this FUN challenge and great give-a-ways!  Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring a $20 gift card!
Here's my card for the challenge...

OH MY WORD, how I LOVE the 3 NEW Whimsy Stamps Stained Glass Collection stamps!  If you love to color these stamps are definitely for you.  And once you color them they are basically an entire A2 sized card on their own, you really don't even need a sentiment unless you want to add one.

This is Stained Glass Peacock and I used the following Copic markers to color it
(all are available at the Whimsy Stamps store):

BG000, BG0000, BG53, BG57,
E27, E35,
Y15, Y17, Y11,
G21, G24,
YR15, YG03, YG17

This card was really easy to do and it was so relaxing coloring it.  It looks like a very involved card but really the stamp does all the work and you can color it with any of your favorite coloring mediums with really zero technique needed.

After I colored the Stained Glass Peacock I just trimmed it leaving approx. a 1/4" border all the way around and matted it onto a white card base and called it done.
Be sure to visit Whimsy Stamps for a list of all the sponsors on the blog hop and have FUN with your coloring!

An Unbreakable Bond FurEver

Have you seen the Rainbow Bridge Collection from Whimsy Stamps?  I designed these sets as a tribute to the furbabies that I have lost and for all others who have had to endure the same.  One of the best things about these sets is they're not only pet sympathy but they have other everyday and pet lover sentiments in them too.

This card base is 5.25 x 5.25 and for the background I used one of my all-time favorite rubber stamps the Farmhouse Fabric background.  I inked it up with a kraft colored ink and stamped it on white card stock.

I drew in the floor line with a pen then used distress inks to watercolor the image which is from the new set An Unbreakable Bond.

On some scrap watercolor paper I added a little bit of soft blue ink then cut it out with the FurEver Friends die set for the sentiment. Then I cut it out two more times from plain watercolor paper and glued them together stacked on top of each other for more dimension.

I layered the image panel on a kraft matte then onto the card base where I had already added the Farmhouse Fabic background to.  I know making sympathy cards can be difficult but they really do mean so much to the recipient and a handmade one with heartfelt sentiments means even more.  Here are the products I used to make this card:
