You're Mermazing

I made my little underwater scene using the Sweet and Salty  mermaid stamp set.  I stamped everything on cold pressed water color paper with Versafine black ink.

The coral reef is all one stamp so it makes an easy ocean floor.  The sentiment was stamped after everything was dry.

I colored the images with distress ink cubes, which is my favorite way to water color ;o).

This was a really quick and easy card, stamp the images in black, a quick water coloring, and matted onto a black card base.  Done.

Ocean Child

I'm having so much fun with all the great beachy themed products Whimsy Stamps has released the past couple of months.  Here is one of my favorite mermaid images from the Let's Be Mermaids clear stamp set.

I stamped the seaweed and bubbles on my main card base and colored them with Copic markers.  I also used Copics to color in the sand and water in the background.

The mermaid was stamped separately, colored with Copics and hand cut out.

For the frame I used the Mermaid Scales stencil and sponged on some green and blue ink onto a full piece of card stock.  Then I cut out the opening using the largest oval from the Stitched Oval die set.  Now I have a leftover piece to use on another project later ;).

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine black ink.  The mermaid was popped up on foam tape and tucked into the corner.  I left her foot and fin loose which creates  movement when you see the card in real life.

For the final touch I added some Glamour Dust (love) to the mermaid fin and the bubbles.

Sweet & Salty Meets Farmhouse Vases

Are you enjoying all of the new Whimsy summer products, I know I am?  For my post today I've made a shaker card and have combined the NEW Sweet and Salty set with (whodathunkit) one of the Farmhouse Collection sets called Farmhouse Vases.  I think these two unlikely sets are a great match for each other ;) what do you think?

I stamped the mason jar from Farmhouse Vases and hand cut it out.  Then I sponged on some blue ink using the Making Waves stencil (such a cool stencil that has 3 different wave options).  Once I had the waves stenciled I stamped the seaweed which is also from the Farmhouse Vases set.  The Sweet and Salty mermaid was stamped and then I used a white gel pen to dot on the waterline following the stencil path.

I used the Shaker Maker Combo Die for my shaker circle and some of the pretty Star Spangled sequins for the inside.
The dotted texture on the white background is from the Falling Dots embossing folder.

Have a great day!
