It's my favorite day of the year but it always makes me a little sad when posting my final Halloween card of the season.
I hope everyone has a FRIGHTFULLY fun Halloween tonight!

Addicted to Halloween

For my post today I combined some new, and some older Whimsy products to turn the Addicted to Rubber Stamps t-shirt into a Halloween t-shirt. I'm addicted to both rubber stamps, and Halloween so it was the perfect match up.

Slimline Build a Pumpkin Farm

HAPPY first day of Fall (eve)...my most favorite season.
And to kick off my favorite season I have another slimline card to share with you today.

These three new and innovative Slimline dies from Whimsy Stamps have opened a whole new world for carding. I can't stop making tall and skinny cards with them!

Forever FALL

It is still Fall isn't it? I wouldn't know because I live in perpetually green SW Florida (sigh) and while it has it's own beauty my heart yearns for a real FALL.

For today's post I'm using a variety of Whimsy Stamps products combining the Tear Drop Splash Stencil, Wavy Edgers dies, Bold ABC dies, Gingham Background stamp and You're My Always clear stamp set.

I used the Teardrop Splash stencil and sponged on Fall ink colors on vanilla card stock.
Then I stamped the Gingham Background with a pumpkin colored ink (also on vanilla card stock) and cut the letters out with the Bold ABC dies. After I cut them out I sponged on more ink around the edges and popped them up with foam tape.

The top piece was cut using the Wavy Edgers die set and I just added some twine and a button to the top before I glued it onto the stenciled piece.

The "forever" sentiment is from the You're My Always clear stamp set that has all kinds of combinations of words to create custom sentiments.

I mounted everything onto an olive colored card base to complete my card.
I hope you are enjoying the Fall wherever you may be.
Have a GREAT day!

Paper Door Glitter Globe Acorn

For today's NEW Glitter Globe PAPER DOOR post I have a twist on how to use the globe die. I turned our wintery, snow globe into a big acorn, kinda cool huh?!

The acorn is simply the globe die turned upside down and the top is the globe base turned upside down. After I die cut the globe base I used the Wire Fence embossing folder to give it some texture. Then inked all the edges and just hand cut a scrap for the stem.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Occasions clear set

And I used the Shiplap Background for, you guessed it, the background ;)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Here's a listing of the Whimsy Stamps products I used for this card...

Delightful Daisies

I love the new Delightful Daisies rubber background stamp from Whims Stamps, it also can be a sunflower stamp too ;o) which is my favorite flower.  What's your favorite flower?

I heat embossed the Delightful Daisies background with white embossing powder on watercolor paper.  Then I used distress inks to watercolor the flowers.

The gingham ribbon is a sneak peek from the upcoming Paper Door kit that will be releasing on September 10th so be sure to stay tuned for that ;).

To give this card a country farmhouse feel I used the Farmhouse Shiplap background stamp for the woodgrain on the bottom of the card.  And the perfect country feeling font for the sentiment is from the Farmhouse Wreaths clear stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed my post today and I hope you are having fun with all the exciting new Whimsy Stamps products released this month!

Winnie the Pooh Watercolor?

Fall is my favorite time of year, not that I get anything even close to resembling Fall in SW Florida but my heart longs for it.  Whimsy Stamps new Falling Leaves stamp set can be used for Fall or for Spring but of course for my first post using this set I opted for Fall.  I love the "feel" of this card, it reminds me of Winnie the Pooh.

I used Canson water color paper and distress ink to water color a soft sky and grassy area.  Then I stamped the grass borders also in distress ink.  The tree, leaves and bench were stamped using SU! Early Espresso ink.  (Tip: SU! inks can also be used as watercolors if you don't have distress inks)

After I stamped the images I used a damp paintbrush and lightly went over each image to soften them up.  I added a little color to the leaves and bench with Faber Castell watercolor pencils then used a damp brush to blend until I got the color and shadows I wanted.  I also re-stamped the grass under the bench a couple of times to give it some depth and more shadowing.  The grass images in this stamp set give you lots of versatility in building your scenes.

To finish the card I stamped the sentiment and birds using SU! Espresso ink and matted onto an Early Espresso card base.  I really like how this card turned out...it makes me feel good inside...I hope it makes you feel good too.

attempted murder meets sleepy hollow

I have five Halloween/Fall-ish sets that released this month for Whimsy Stamps and they're all combinable with one another.  I'll be showing you lots of posts over the next several days using primarily these five Tim Burton-ish, Sleepy Hollow, Grim, Gothic and Autumn stamps sets for all your Halloween and fall card-making fun.

I first made a stencil with a cloud die and sponged on light blue ink to create the sky.  Then I stamped the fence from the Attempted Murder set and colored it with Copic markers.  This fence is designed so you can keep extending it to make it as long as you want it to be.
I stamped the pumpkins and jack-o-lantern head, colored all with Copics and fussy cut them out.  The scarecrow was cut using the Sleepy Hollow matching dies set.  No way was I going to try and fussy cut around his straw fingers!

The grass was done using Copics and a flicking technique, I first flicked in all the grass then added the pumpkins and did more flicking on top of them so it looks more natural than just two blobs sitting out in front of the card.

The scarecrow in the Sleepy Hollow set has a different head which has a meanie face which of course has his place (you'll see him in other posts) but for this card I wanted a happier punkin' head so I used the one from the Headless Horseman set instead.  Remember, everything works together so you have oodles of options.

The trees and leaves were stamped and colored with Copics and then last but not least the AUTUMN sentiment was stamped to complete my card.
