Slimline Build a Pumpkin Farm

HAPPY first day of Fall (eve)...my most favorite season.
And to kick off my favorite season I have another slimline card to share with you today.

Best Buddies Loved Beyond Words

 That's an understatement!

I started this sweet Best Buddies card off with the new Scratchy Plaid background stamp.

I stamped it in navy ink onto a light blue background which gave this card just the right masculine feel I was looking to couple with the Best Buddies stamp set.

I stamped one of the two main images from the Best Buddies set onto Bristol cold pressed watercolor paper and used distress inks to watercolor it. Then cut it out using the Notched Rectangle die set and popped it up on foam tape.

I very lightly water colored another piece of bristol paper to stamp my sentiment on then cut it out using one of the Quick Strips dies, you all know how much I love that die set, it's a must have IMO.

To complete my card, I matted onto a navy blue card base.
This would make such a sweet Father's Day card wouldn't it?

Spiral Roses Thanks So Much

For today's post I'm featuring a really pretty rubber background stamp called Spiral Roses

I first heat embossed with white embossing powder on Bristol cold pressed watercolor paper.

I wet my paper with water first then floated/dabbed on some purple inks (Tim Holtz wilted violet and dusty concord distress inks). After it was dry I went back add added darker highlights to random areas with the concord grape ink.

Once it was all dry I cut a portion of the completed Spiral Roses into a square and glued that to a black card base. For the top I cut off another portion of the background and fussy cut around the flowers then glued that down to the black card base.

I used the scallop from the Kinetic Curved Basics die for the white strip and stamped the sentiment from Everyday Scripted Sentiments.

For a final touch I added a couple of Jelly Fish Sparkletz which added just the perfect purple bling on the sentiment area. I LOVE all these Sparkletz and they're even better in real life.

Summer SPLASH to Warm Up Your Winter

Who's in need of some warming up after (or still during) the 2019 arctic blast winter storm?

Today I'm sharing two cards using the Splash clear stamp set. For both cards I heat embossed the waves with white embossing powder on watercolor paper.

Then I used distress inks to watercolor them. On the "serenity" card I heat embossed the dolphin and the sun and added some dots of Glossy Accents around the dolphin.

The serenity die is retired from the Whimsy store but you could easily use another word die or one of the sentiments from the  Splash stamp set. If you're in the UK one of our retailers still carries the die set HERE.

For the other card I just used black Versafine ink for the dolphin, sun, birds, and sentiment.
Hope these two cards brought a little warmth into your day.

Kooky Friend Got Candy?

Kooky Monsters or kooky friend, it doesn't matter as long as they have candy - ha!

I started out stamping one of the Kooky Monsters on Bristol cold pressed water color paper and used distress inks to color him.

When he was dry I sprinkled on some plain water, hand cut him out and popped him up on foam tape.

For the sentiments I used the new You're Too Kind stamp set for the "friend" and coupled that with the "got candy" from the Kooky Monsters set.

I matted onto a black card base and added some oh so purdy Mixed Berry sequins. This would make a really cute non-lovey dovey Valentine's Day card too ;).

For this Penguin Farts card I first water colored a yellow background using distress inks. Then I stamped the penguins, colored their beaks and feets ;) and die cut them with their matching dies.

I cut out the SMILE word die and tilted the "e" out a little so I could make it look like the big penguin is balancing on top. I just used a marker to add the movement marks.

These little penguins are so fun and easy to make the cutest cards and everything to make this card (except the watercolor background) is included in this months Penguin Farts PAPER DOOR kit.

I can't wait to see all your PENGUIN FARTS cards...LOL!

Unicorn Snowflakes

Who doesn't love catching snowflakes...with their unicorn?!

Today's card is using the Favorite Flake clear stamp set and is an easy one layer card.

I stamped the girl and unicorn with black Archival waterproof ink onto Bristol cold pressed watercolor paper and used regular Distress Inks to watercolor them.

Once the main images were dry I watercolored in a light blue sky and the ground.

then when that was dry I stamped the Favorite Flake sentiments and added some Glamour Dust glitter to look like falling snow.

Catching snowflakes on your tongue is always fun but it's even better when you have your unicorn with you!
