So Deeply Sorry

It's such a terrible time for the whole world right now, so many people are dying from this awful virus. April 2, 2020 had the largest death toll in the USA since the outbreak. This card is for all of those who have endured the loss of a loved one through this awful time in our history. And also for those who have had loss from other things during this time too. I'm so deeply sorry.

Earth Day Build a Garden

HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Thank you Mother Earth for giving us such beautiful and valuable things that we literally could not live without.

I just love how many cute little scenes can be made with the Whimsy Stamps NEW Build a Garden die set. For today's card I have a little blue bird watering her flower garden.

I started off by cutting out a bunch of the flowers and leaves, and the strip on the bottom from the NEW Pretty Pastels 6x6 paper pack. I just love these new papers they are more like card stock weight and have such a pretty sheen to them.

I cut out the little birdie from white card stock and sponged on blue ink and used a black marker for his eye and beak.

The watering can was cut from gray paper then sponged with black ink and I added a little white pencil here and there

I arranged the flowers and added Enamel Dots to their centers and popped up a couple with foam tape. The little birdie and watering can are also popped up on foam tape. The sentiment is from last months Paper Door kit.

I hope you like the Build a Garden card and I hope you enjoy this beautiful EARTH DAY!

Have FUN hoping along and ENJOY all the inspiration both teams have created for you.
And now for my first card...

I started out with five pieces of plain black card stock each of them cut at 5.5 x 4.25 in size
For one of them I used the Whimsy Stamps Wonky Window 1 die to cut out the plain black frame. You can toss the black inside pieces or save them for another project.

I used my Misti to stamp the Flower Puffs background onto each of the other 4 pieces of black card stock with Versamark ink then heat embossed each of them with different colors of WOW!  Embossing Powders...White Puff, Metaline Violet, Fluorescent Blue and Fluorescent Green

I glued the full white embossed piece onto a black card base, then glued the plain black Wonky Window frame directly on top.

I used the Wonky Window 1 die and cut out all 3 sheets of the fluorescent colored backgrounds making sure I had each one in the same orientation and so the pattern would line up when pieced together.

Once they were all die-cut I chose the pieces/color arrangement I liked best and glued the blue, green, and violet pieces inside the frame directly on top of the white. And BONUS...there are several left over pieces and really cool frames that you can make additional cards with too!

For the final touch I used the smallest of the NEW Wavy Stitched Squares for the sentiment and adhered that in the largest window opening using foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment is from the NEW Cloud Animals clear stamp set.

And now for my second card...

I used mostly the same products on both of these cards and the WOW! Fluorescent Embossing Powders look so cool on black I just had to use them again.

So I stamped the same Flower Puffs background with versamark ink and Fluorescent Pink EP.

For the bottom of the card I used the Whimsy Stamps Brushed Stripes background on black card stock with WOW! White Puff embossing powder. I LOVE pink and black and white together, it's one of my favorite color combos.

For the sentiment I used a couple of the bigger sized dies from the Wavy Stitched Squares, this is a really fun die set that is a nice change from plain ol' squares. And the sentiment is from the Beaucoup Bouquet clear stamp set that has a nice variety of any occasion sentiments especially good for your floral cards too.

Which one do you like best?...

Don't forget to click on the word bubble (at the very bottom of this post) and leave a comment for your chance to win one of the Whimsy Stamps or WOW! Embossing Powder prizes.
And be sure to leave a comment at every stop along the hop.
HAVE FUN!

Wonderful FaDoodle Friend

Today I have a cheerful card to share with you that's combining 3 different stamp sets. I just love how Whimsy Stamps products works so well together and complement one another.

I started out stamping the corners of the card with the FaDoodles Too checkerboard stamp and black ink. Isn't FaDoodles such a fun name?! This clear stamp set is by the amazingly talented (and my dear friend) Faye Wynn-Jones

Then I stamped the flowers from A Girls Best Friend, colored them with Copic markers and cut them out. I placed the flowers at the corners covering up the empty spaces and popped a couple up with foam tape.

I used the You're My Favorite stamp set for the sentiment and stamped that in black Versafine ink, then matted onto a black card base.

Whimsy has several sets like this that allow you to build your own sentiments with countless different combinations. They're great sets that go a long way for your card sentiment needs.

Hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

PAPER DOOR Beaucoup Bouquet Watercolor

Here's a card I designed for the Whimsy Retreat last month using the NEW Beaucoup Bouquet PAPER DOOR kit (all the attendees received this kit as part of their gift bags and got to use it at retreat for this card).

You get step-by-step instructions for this card and several others with your July PAPER DOOR purchase.

I used all 3 of the distress inks (plus one other) included in this months PAPER DOOR kit to watercolor this project.

The sentiment is an add-on set called Beaucoup Bouquet Sentiments, it was also released this month and is available to purchase anytime.  And the Stitched Ovals are available to purchase too.

I hope you are having as much fun with your PAPER DOOR this month as I have been!  If you haven't gotten yours yet, you can order it now thru July 25th but don't wait these kits sell out pretty fast!

Flower Puff Best Friends

The NEW Flower Puffs rubber background stamp is super popular and there are so many great sample ideas with the stamp...I'm loving all of them!  For my card I embossed the flowers with white embossing powder on watercolor paper and used distress inks to watercolor it

I used chipboard and the NEW Bold ABC die set to cut out the FRIENDS sentiment.  This alphabet die is a great value and is just the right size...not too big and not too small.

I used the "You're My Always" set for the bottom sentiment which was heat embossed with white embossing powder on a scrap piece of black card stock.  I trimmed the end at an angle and glued it flat onto the background.  I bent the left edge up a bit with my finger.

The "Best" sentiment is from the "FurEver Friends" die set and was the perfect final touch to this card.

I hope you have a great day!
