HAPPY WORLD CARDMAKING DAY EVERYONE!
Isn't cardmaking the best hobby ever?! And in celebration of the special day Whimsy Stamps is having an "inspired by" challenge with several PRIZES. There are more details at the end of this post.
In the meantime, I have a SPOOKTACULAR card to share with you that totally makes me think of Disney's Haunted Mansion which is one of my most favorite places in the whole world...I could totally live there!
To start off I stamped the Vintage Wallpaper background (love), with black ink onto white cardstock.
Then I sponged on distress inks (wilted violet, and faded jeans), and matted that onto lime green card stock (which seems to look more yellow in the photos).
I used the Dracula's Coffin die set to cut the coffin parts from grey cardstock and sponged black ink around the edges of everything.
Then I die cut Elvira from black card stock and sponged on some white ink here and there. I die cut Elvia out again from light lavender card stock and used that for her face, adding the black eyes back in last.
Quick Tip: You can just add some regular scotch tape on the back to hold her face and eyes in place.
The kitty cat is from the Build a Grave die set, he was cut out of black card stock and I gave him lime green eyes.
I used the Foolish Mortals Word dies and cut out two of each word from black card stock and one from lime green cardstock. I stacked and glued the two black ones together saving the lime green one to be glued on top.
After I had everything positioned where I wanted, I matted onto a black card base to complete my Elvira visits the Haunted Mansion card. Hope you have a haunted Halloween!
And don't be a Foolish Mortal, be sure to stop by the Whimsy Stamps blog every night in October at 6pm for lots of spooktacular 31 Nights of Halloween FUN!
And for even more fun, in celebration of World Cardmaking Day, Whimsy Stamps is having an "inspired by" challenge with several more prizes over on the Whimsy Blog...
