Jeepers Creepers Hourglass

I just can't get enough of the new Slimline Hourglass die, isn't it just the coolest die ever?!
For your viewing pleasure (eye pun ;) I've paired it with the new Jeepers Creepers rubber stamp for this creepy Halloween card.

I die cut all my slimline Hourglass pieces first:

2 white cardstock pieces using the main hourglass die, score each of them across the top at about 1/4" and adhesive just across that 1/4" area to make an attached hourglass shaped card base. The scoring helps the card open and close easily. (Here's a video tutorial for another way to make the card base)
1 piece of clear acetate using the main hourglass die.
1 Vanilla cardstock bottom sand piece.
4 black spindles, 2 toppers, and 2 base pieces. (I stacked and glued two spindles together, and did the same with the top and base pieces). I like stacking my die cuts to give them more dimension and stability. You could even stack more if you like.

The topper and base were cut out from the new 6x6 Nevermore papers, which give a perfect wood effect.

I stamped my Jeepers Creepers eyeballs and colored them with Copic markers:
E50 - E51 - E04 -E93 -YR23 -YG63 -B95
Then masked off the eyeballs and sponged on some grey ink.

I used the Burlap background rubber stamp to make the sand texture. The Burlap background is one of my go-to stamps...I use it for so many projects. I also sponged on a little ink around the edges of the sand piece.

Once all my stamping and coloring were done I just assembled the hourglass. You don't even really need the acetate layer but it does give it that extra touch to make it seem even more real.
Those Jeepers Creepers just crack me up, and I know the slimline Hourglass die is going to be a long-time favorite of mine...there are so many fun ideas for it, I hope you enjoyed this one.
