Special Jungle Babies

I have a baby card to share with you today using the cute NEW Jungle Babies clear stamp set.

I stamped the little monkey and a couple of leaves and colored them with Copic markers, then hand cut them out.
Monkey and leaves Copic colors: E31, E55, E35, E57, YG63, YG67, G82

I did the same for the lion
Lion Copic colors: YR21, YR24, E35, YR23, R21

I used the Messy Mesh background (love this background stamp) and stamped it with a golden yellow ink onto white card stock. Then used the Pierced and Stitched Circles die set to cut out the large circle opening.
The grass hill is green cardstock cut out with the Stitched Border Trio die

To give the Special Large Word die dimension I first cut it out from white foam, then cut it out again in a brown cardstock and glued it on top of the foam. You can achieve this same look by layering 2-3 pieces of white cardstock instead of the foam but the foam is a little quicker and has it's own cool effect.

To complete my Jungle Babies card I stamped the "little one" sentiment and hand cut the words individually then popped the circle opening up with foam tape and mounted everything onto a brown 5.5x5.5 card base.

Penguin Ray - Cancer SUCKS!

This Penguin Ray digital stamp was designed by our lovely Crissy Armstrong, for her brother Ray who is currently battling cancer. Crissy and Whimsy Stamps are donating ALL proceeds for the purchase of this digi stamp to the Canadian Make-a-Wish Foundation. To purchase this digi and/or for more information click HERE.

I printed out the Penguin Ray digi stamp onto white card stock and colored him with Copic markers.
I kept his colors kind of muted because he's feeling sick from all the chemo he's dealing with :(.
C00, C1, C3, C4, C5
W00, W1, W3

YR21

R30

I had printed out a couple of the images so I decided to color a second chemo IV bag and popped that up on foam tape for a little dimension.

I typed out the sentiment (my sentiment exactly!) and printed it at the same time I printed the digi.
Then I used one of the Quick Strip dies to cut it out. This is one of my all-time favorite die sets and I use it for almost every card I make.

The green striped paper is from the new Pretty Pastels 6x6 paper pack
And as a finishing touch I added 3 Christmas Cheer Enamel Dots at the bottom.

I lost my beloved mother to bone cancer when she was only 59, and I've lost 5 aunts and 2 uncles to cancer as well. My father is one year clear of bladder cancer, my brother-in-law is 2 years clear of lung cancer. I have an aunt currently battling breast cancer and my beautiful sister is currently starting another battle with lung cancer for a second time in 8 years. Cancer SUCKS and I know there probably isn't one of us who hasn't been personally affected one way or another by this horrible disease. I continually pray for a cure.

CAUTION! Dog Slobber

Today is National PUPPY Day!
Proceed with CAUTION there's Dog Slobber ahead...

This little guy from the Caution Dog Slobber clear stamp set is just so happy, his silly expression makes me smile! You can see another card I made using this set HERE.

I stamped him with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink on Canson cold pressed watercolor paper and used Faber Castell watercolor pencils to color him.  Then die-cut him out with the matching Caution Dog Slobber die set.

I stamped the sign and sentiment with the same ink and actually just cut that out by hand but there is a matching die included in the die set for that too.

I then stamped the caution sign 3 more times and hand cut just the top caution part on all 3 of them. I glued 2 of them under the dog and the third one I popped up on foam tape and put on the sign for some dimension. And of course I had to add a little glitter to his tongue and drool - lol

The dog and triangle are popped up on foam tape for dimension too. And to finish I glued onto a dark pink matte and then to a dark brown card base.

I hope you are enjoying National Puppy Day with your furbabies?!

Farmhouse Thank You

I love anything farmhouse and for today's card I'm using some of our Whimsy Stamps Farmhouse Collection products for my thank you card.

I started out with a white card matte and sponged on some light brown ink all across the bottom. Then I used a darker brown ink and sponged on the pattern using the Farmhouse Basket stencil.

I stamped the Farmhouse Wreath above the basket area and colored it with Copic markers. Then stamped the sentiment inside. You can build all kinds of custom sentiments with this set and mix-n-match with the Farmhouse Vases set too.

I used the Farmhouse Vases set and stamped some of the twigs randomly near the basket line.  Then stamped the vase on a separate piece of paper, colored it with Copic markers, hand-cut it out and popped it up with foam tape.
I matted everything into a kraft colored card base to complete my farmhouse thank you card.

St. Patrick's Day Build a Basket

Top o' the mornin' to ya and HAPPY St. Patrick's Day!

The Build a Basket die set has lots of different elements and for my card today I decided to make a pot-o-gold with it for St. Patrick's Day. Keep reading to find a couple of quick tips about how I made gold coins and the handles on the pot.

I die-cut the black kettle and sponged on a little white ink around the edges. Then (tip 1) I used the bow from the die set to make the handles, brilliant huh - lol.  I cut the shamrock out of  green Glitter Tape by (tip 2) first sticking the tape to a piece of cardstock then cutting it out with the shamrock die. Then did the same thing with gold Glitter Tape and cut out a bunch of coins.

I used the new Pierced and Stitched Circle die set for the white circle and stamped the sentiment from the Shamrock Swirl clear stamps set. Then I adhered the kettle with foam tape and added a few extra coins "falling" off the side.

I added a strip of the gold Glitter Tape down the left side of a white card base.  Then stamped the Buffalo Plaid background with black ink onto green card stock and added that on top.

The Build a Basket is really fun to work with and there are a bunch of different was to use it. I'm already thinking of a Halloween cauldron and of course there are lots of ideas for spring/Easter and just an everyday basket with flowers...so many ideas for one die set!

Kooky Monster Candy

This Kooky Monster cracks me up, I can almost hear his deep goofy monster voice speaking the sentiment. And his greenness is just in time for St. Patty's Day weekend too.

If you're looking for some crafting St. Patty's Day fun come join the Whimsy and Inspiration group event on Facebook. There are games and prizes and LOTS of green inspiration being shared now through Sunday, March 17th.

I started this card off by cutting out THREE of the same Wonky Windows, one in white, one in black and one in lime green.  I glued the black Wonky Window (framing only) onto a white card base.

I stamped the Kooky Monster on the largest white piece and colored him with Copic markers

And I stamped the candies randomly on the two smaller green pieces

The sentiment was stamped on one of the smaller white pieces. Since I cut 3 different colors I just put the remaining bits into my scraps to use on other projects.

I popped up the two white pieces on foam tape for dimension and glued the green pieces flat so they were inlaid into the frame.

The Wonky Window 1 die is so cool and works so many ways with so many different stamp sets, and it's definitely a great match with the Kooky Monsters set.
