Winter Park Falling Leaves

I absolutely love tree stamps and this one, Falling Leaves is super versatile.  This set can be used for all 4 seasons and since it's suppose to be freezing this coming week in (sunny) Florida I thought I'd share a winter scene with you today.
I'd also like to wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR, may the coming year be filled with good health and blessings for all!
And stay tuned for LOTS of great new products in 2018 from Whimsy Stamps!  We have all kinds of of exciting things in store for you kicking off with the new release on 1/2/18 :)!

For the background I used a long sticky note and tore a edge off and masked it across the bottom of the white cardstock.  Then I used SU! ink (river rock, baja breeze and marina mist) to sponge on the winter sky.  To get the snowy effect on the sky I used a toothbrush wet with plain water and held it close to the paper raking my finger over the bristles so it would splatter onto the background making it look like it's snowing.

I stamped the tree and the bench with versafine black ink and used a black marker to color them in solid.  Then I used a versamarker and randomly added it to the tree and bench in spots where snow would naturally collect, then I embossed that with super fine white embossing powder. The light coating on the tree trunk was a happy accident.  Apparently the ink from the marker wasn't quite dry so some of the embossing powder stuck to it and the effect was perfect.

I also added a little more "snow" by sponging on a tad of versafine ink onto the horizon and around the base of the tree and bench embossing that with white powder too.

For the final touches I used a little chalk and made some shadows.  And lastly I die cut the winter sentiment from some glitter paper using the Holiday Words die set then mounted onto a black card base.

Another one stamp set card.
Maybe I need to start a series of cards you can make using just one stamp set?  Hmmmm...oh wait I already have for some recent Christmas cards, you can see all of them HERE.

Bah Humbug

YUP.

This was a quick and easy (and funny) Christmas card.  I just stamped the tree from and sentiment the Grumpy Holidays set and colored it with some markers.  I added a little chalk around the bottom of the tree and some extra "pine needles" with a marker too.

I cut the stitched curve with the Stitched Border Trio die and mounted onto a purple card base.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Bah Humbug to all, thank you for an amazing 2017 and sharing my Whimsy Stamps journey.  Can't wait to share LOTS more, new and fun stamps and products with you in 2018! :o)

Whimsy Stamps 12 Days of Christmas Blog Celebration

Hey there everyone :)...looking for some great Christmas card ideas and Whimsy blog fun?  Then head over to the Whimsy Inspiration Blog to enjoy their 12 Days of Christmas Festivities and giveaways! They have an all-star cast line-up showcasing beautiful Christmas cards for everyone.

And here's a little inspiration for my post today using the

I stamped the stocking and holly with Memento black ink so I could use my Copics to color them, Then I fussy cut both of them out.

I added some red bling as the holly berries and popped the stocking up with foam tape for dimension.  The stitching on the left side of the card is from a retired die but you could use a stitched rectangle or border stamp too.

To complete the card I die cut the Holiday Words from some gold cardstock and glued them down, then mounted everything onto a red card base.   Have a great day!

Cute Cupid meets Holiday Occasions

It was a perfect match pairing up the LOVE sentiment from the new Holiday Occasions set (which was November's CAS set and is now for general sale) and the Cute Cupid set which is, well, cute;).  Hope you enjoy today's post using both of these newly released sets from Whimsy Stamps.

To start off with I used a Sizzix brick embossing folder for the background.  The hearts are a really old sizzix die too but the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Hearts Dies match even better and they are on sale right now too!

I stamped the LOVE sentiment from the Holiday Occasions set with SU! real red ink, the wings and halo were stamped with Memento black ink and colored using Copic markers.

The bottom sentiment is stamped on a plain white strip of cardstock with Versafine black ink which is by far my favorite ink for sentiments.  Did you know Whimsy is now carrying Versafine and Memento inks you can find them HERE.

I used the matching Cute Cupid die set to cut out the wings and halo and popped up the heart and halo with foam tape for dimension.

Christmas Memories Trio

A couple of weeks ago I did three posts using the Christmas Memories stamp set for 3 quick and easy cards that took only 6 steps or less to make.  Here they are all together displayed on my table, I thought the photo was festive so I thought I'd share it with you today.
Hope you like it and hope you have a great holiday.
XO

Yay it's Chocolate Day!

YAY! It's Whimsy Stamps new release for December and it's chock full of LOVE and chocolate!  To kick things off I have some bonbons for your delight using the new Crazy for Chocolate stamp set. I hope you ENJOY...

I stamped the bonbons with Memento black ink and colored them with copic markers then cut them out using the matching Crazy for Chocolate dies
The bonbon wrappers (could also be Reese's cups if colored differently) were stamped with SU! Basic Grey ink and cut out with the dies too.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia.  I used an ancient, (like 20 year old) Sizzix scallop frame die to cut the frame and mounted onto an (ancient) SU! creamy caramel card base.

When I originally thought out this card I was going to use a transparency to make it look like a candy store window but I totally forgot about it until after I had everything adhered.  oh well, DER de DER!

Snowman Tidings to you and Yours

I just love snowmen for winter/holiday cards and this new Snowman Tidings set from Whimsy Stamps has 2 cute ones along with some trees and accessories, you can see a bunch more samples from the creative team HERE.  I hope you like this little guy...

I stamped everything using Memento Black ink so I could safely color everything using my Copic markers.  It's important to use the right ink that works with the coloring medium you've chosen otherwise it can ruin your project and/or your Copics - yikes!

I love pink and grey so that's what I decided to go with on this card, I think the blue ice/snow/lake (trees in a lake??) go nicely with the pink and grey too.  Once I colored everything I used the Snowman Tidings matching die set to cut everything out and stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black ink (my favorite for sentiments).

Be sure to check out Whimsy's new release for December - there's some super cute stuff coming out on December 7th!
