Steps to Serenity Attitude of Gratitude

Here's another clean and simple card using the Steps to Serenity stamp set
This stamp set is fantastic for quick cards.

This card was so fast and easy all I did was cut out a stitched rectangle and stamped the images with two different blue inks (SU! Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy) for a little added interest.

The sentiment was stamped with SU! Basic Grey because I thought black would be too harsh.
I often use a grey ink or a dark brown ink instead of black for sentiments.
The sentiment was die cut with an old SU! Framelit set called Apothecary Accents.

to finish the card I popped it up with foam tape onto a navy blue card base.

Steps to Serenity Don't Quit

For the first day of Autumn I of course had to post a tree card.  Tree stamps are some of my very favorite stamps...I must collect them all!  I hope you like this SUPER quick and easy card using the
Steps to Serenity stamp set, this set from Whimsy Stamps has several serenity slogans/sayings sentiments. Try to say that sentence three times fast!

This is a single layer card and all I did was sponge ink onto watercolor paper.  I was going to flick some water drops on it or blend the ink with water but I actually ended up liking just the sponged on colors and went with that.

I inked the tree stamp up with two different colored markers and stamped the in the area that I created the "tree" shading with my sponging.
Then simple stamped my sentiment and the card was done.
Doesn't get much easier than that ;).

Steps to Serenity Keep it Simple

Here's another card using the Steps to Serenity stamp set released this month at Whimsy Stamps.  I tried to "Keep it Simple" by only using only 3 products...stamps, ink and paper.

I started out by stamping the bridge with a medium tone grey ink.  For the tree I used a sponge to apply two different colors directly onto the stamp, then used a marker to darken in the trunk and a few of the branches after I stamped it.

I stamped the sentiment and matted the image onto a craft card base.  Oh and I used a wood grain (hard to see) washi tape along the left edge of the card.  So technically I used 4 items, stamps, ink, paper and washi tape.  I think this makes a nice masculine card which can often be a challenge.

Oh What FUN!

Here's one of my favorite sets from the new September Whimsy Stamps release, it's called "Oh What Fun".  It sure looks like Santa is having loads of fun on his sleigh down from the North Pole with gifts just a flyin' :).

I cut and oval in white cardstock and embossed it with the SU! Softly Falling embossing folder.

All the images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers.

The images were cut out using the matching Oh What Fun die set and the "snow" is some glitter paper from my never ending scrap stash.

The sentiment was stamped last and the oval panel was popped up on foam tape for dimension.  The presents and the Christmas tree are also on foam tape but the other images are not so I have 3 different depths for added interest.

Caution Wagging Tail

Here's a quick and easy card made using the new Whimsy Stamps set called Caution Wagging Tail.  It has a companion stamp set that's really fun to mix-n-match with too called Caution Dog Slobber, you can see a card I posted last week with that set HERE

I used distress inks diluted with quite a bit of water to get the extra soft watercolor on all the images.

The sentiment was heat embossed using white embossing powder on a black strip of card stock.  And being the dork that I am, I forgot the put one of the cutest touches on this card which is the wag marks for the tail (duh).  Don't worry I'll be posting more with this set and won't forget next time.

All the images were cut out using the matching Caution Wagging Tail die set which made this card extra quick and easy.

To complete the card I popped up all the main images on foam tape for added dimension.
Hope this makes your tail wag :)

Steps to Serenity

Hello my stamping friends, today I have an inspirational stamp set to share with you called, "Steps to Serenity".  This stamp set has two beautiful images with several inspirational sayings that are often referred to as slogans ;).
UPDATED 9/13/17: I schedule my blog posts a week or so in advance.  I also live in SW Florida and we just went through Hurricane IRMA 2 days ago.  Thank God our home made it through (unlike hurricane Charley in 2004) so we are beyond grateful.  We also somehow have power whereas the majority of people in our area do not...another blessing (for us).  So while we were spared, so many others where not and our hearts hurt for them.  We have opened our home for showers, hot meals, just to cool off for a few hours or anything else we can do to make friends and family more comfortable during such a terrible time.  So this post (which was scheduled pre-hurricane) is aptly named Steps to Serenity.  I pray that all of those affected in Florida and other states and countries are able to find some serenity through all of this chaos and loss.  God bless everyone.

I used my go-to favorite distress inks to watercolor the background.  (Tip: Before starting to watercolor I used painters tape and taped off the edges so the image would have a white border around it).  Once the background was dry the "sun" was created by using a clean paint brush and plain water and removing color from the background.

The tree was stamped using black Versafine ink then I added a little more shadowing with more distress ink and a slightly damp paint brush to get a more saturated color.
The "Serenity" die cut is from our new Gratitude word dies set you can see HERE.

To complete the card I matted the image on black cardstock then onto a soft yellow card base.

Merry Abstract Christmas

I posted a Fall card last so I thought I'd share with you a Christmas card today using my new stamp set Abstract Christmas.  I know there are year round Christmas fans out there (like us year round Halloween fans)...so I hope this helps inspire you to start on your Christmas cards soon.

I used white embossing powder to emboss the tree onto watercolor paper.  Then I heavily wet the paper down and used distress ink to "float" the color allowing it to go wherever it wanted.  Once the paper was dry (yes I used a heat gun to speed p the process) I then went back in with more distress ink in the same color but less diluted with water and just touched it into random circles on the tree.

I added diamond rhinestones to random circles which look much better in real life...they really twinkle ;).  I matted the panel onto an evergreen base and popped it up with foam tape.

I used my Misti tool to stamp the sentiments so they were perfectly spaced along the edges of the white card base.  There are countless combinations for all the Christmas sentiments in this stamp set!

Winnie the Pooh Watercolor?

Fall is my favorite time of year, not that I get anything even close to resembling Fall in SW Florida but my heart longs for it.  Whimsy Stamps new Falling Leaves stamp set can be used for Fall or for Spring but of course for my first post using this set I opted for Fall.  I love the "feel" of this card, it reminds me of Winnie the Pooh.

I used Canson water color paper and distress ink to water color a soft sky and grassy area.  Then I stamped the grass borders also in distress ink.  The tree, leaves and bench were stamped using SU! Early Espresso ink.  (Tip: SU! inks can also be used as watercolors if you don't have distress inks)

After I stamped the images I used a damp paintbrush and lightly went over each image to soften them up.  I added a little color to the leaves and bench with Faber Castell watercolor pencils then used a damp brush to blend until I got the color and shadows I wanted.  I also re-stamped the grass under the bench a couple of times to give it some depth and more shadowing.  The grass images in this stamp set give you lots of versatility in building your scenes.

To finish the card I stamped the sentiment and birds using SU! Espresso ink and matted onto an Early Espresso card base.  I really like how this card turned out...it makes me feel good inside...I hope it makes you feel good too.

Caution Dog Slobber

It's here, it's here...Whimsy Stamps new release for September!!  I'm so excited that I get to introduce to you 7 new stamp sets and 4 new dies sets in my Amped2Stamp line and I'll start today with a stamp set called Caution Dog Slobber...hope it makes you smile (or drool - lol).  You can check out the entire new release from all the talented Whimsy artists HERE.

I started off by water coloring the background on cold pressed Canson water color paper using Tim Holtz distress inks.  I used my heat gun to dry it because I just couldn't wait ;) to see how the bright colors turned out.  Once it was dry I added some glitter to make a pool of drool under the dog (lol pool of drool).

I used Faber Castell water color pencils to color the doggie and fussy cut him out.  Don't worry, we have a matching Caution Dog Slobber dies set to go with the stamp set you can find that here.  But for this project I didn't want a white edge around the image so I hand cut him.

To complete the card I stamped the sentiment and drool drops (drool drops? lol) in Versafine black ink and popped the doggie up on foam tape so he really stood out.  Be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss a post I have lots of fun projects to share with you this month.
