Florida SNOW Flurry???

It's supposed to get down into the 30's in SW Florida tonight and this Florida girl is hoping for SNOW!!  So I thought it was a good time to post this snow capped card (from the Whimsy Stamps Snow Flurry Collection) with Florida colors for a non-traditional winter twist.  Hope you enjoy and stay bundled up!

For the background I used Versamark ink on the Snow Flurry background stamp and stamped it onto watercolor paper.  Then I heat embossed it with detail white embossing powder.  I wet the paper down so it was pretty wet (with water puddling) then took a wet paintbrush and floated on Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed Distress inks.

I used my heat tool to speed up the drying time then I used the Snow Cap word die to cut out the letters from a portion of the background I created.  And cut off another portion for the bottom part of the card.
I cut a second set of letters out of black cardstock to create the "shadow" effect.  The snowy caps are from the same die set and I cut those out of glitter cardstock.  It's really fun building the snow words...kind of like playing in the snow ;o).

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Snow Flurry stamp set in white on black cardstock and trimmed it at an angle.  I cut a white panel for the top portion using the Stitched Border Trio.
The black letters were glued to the backside of the main letters (off-set just slightly) and the snow caps were glued on top of the main letters.  All of the letters are popped up on foam tape for added dimension.   Stay snuggly :o)!
