Slimline Five Frames Shaker

Have you seen all the cool Whimsy Stamps Slimline dies for making tall & skinny cards?

Here's another one that has just been released called Slimline Five Frames, and I already LOVE it!

I made my shaker card by first using the new Slimline Five Frames die and die cut 3 each of the five green card stock colors, and one white one.
I added a clear acetate to the back of the white frame and lined all the openings with Shaker Maker foam tape (and set it aside).
If you like making shaker cards the Shaker Maker foam tape is must have, it's thick enough that you only need one layer. I don't ever want to make another shaker card without it.

I used the new Leaves background and black ink to stamp each of the green card stock pieces (for the inside) and glued them, spaced according to the frame openings to a black card base.

Then I added a small pile of Lucky Charms Sparkletz to each opening and adhered the white frame on top.

I stacked and glued together 3 of the stitched frame pieces for each color green and glued them to their matching windows.

And lastly I used the Bold ABC die set to add the HAPPY letters to the front of each opening. The letters are sized perfectly to fit inside the Slimline Five Frames windows, how cool is that?!

Hope you have started making Slimline cards, they are so much fun and totally addictive!
Have a HAPPY day!

  1. This is fantastic! And so handsome! Or pretty! I like the hues of greens that you used and the leaves really are fun in the backdrop. Another reason to grab up this slimline die! I do like a shaker card and always have trouble with the bits sticking to the adhesive on the inside, even when I put some anti static powder down; so maybe this foam you referenced will help with that. Thanks and I enjoyed your card/post! :)

  2. Hi Liz :) and thanks so much! This slimline is addictive like all the others - lol. The double thickness foam definitely makes shaker cards quicker and easier but it still doesn't eliminate the bits sticking to the sides. I do the same as you with the anti-static powder etc., and no matter what something always sticks. xo

  3. Great card, Debbie - very much worth steali...er, CASEing! I do have a question about the die, if you don't mind. It looks like it's one piece, but you have raised frames around each opening in your card. Does the set include the die for making separate frames for the openings? Thanks!

    1. Hi Diana, and thank you for your nice comment :). To answer you question, the Slimline Five Frames is a single die that cuts the outside framing and also cuts 5 individual frames all at the same time. I just cut it out a couple of times which gave me lots of extra frames to stack up. Hope that helps :)
