Whimsy Stamps Special Release Cancer Stamp Sets

Nearly every one has been or will be affected by cancer in one way or another.
My family has been devastated and decimated by cancer. My sister is currently battling stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to her brain. We have lost our mother, grandfather, 5 aunts and 2 uncles to cancer, and my father and brother-in-law are cancer survivors.

Needless to say it was very difficult and emotional for me to design these 3 new Whimsy stamp sets. I dedicate them to my beautiful sister Elizabeth who is nothing short of an inspiration. And to all the people whose lives have been infiltrated by this horrible, insidious disease.

I used the Cancer Sucks clear stamp set for my card today. There are two other sets within this special mini release, all of which can work independently or complementary to one another.
At the bottom of this post are links to several other Whimsy Stamps creative team members sharing additional cards with this special release.

I stamped the boxing gloves with Memento black ink and colored them with Copic markers then stamped the tiny "Cancer Sucks" on each of the gloves.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Clair (morning mist) ink. I love this grey ink, it works just right when black ink would otherwise be too harsh.

I matted the image onto black card stock and popped it up on foam tape for dimension, then added onto a black card base with a blush pink card stock accent.
Also added a silver brad to the top of the boxing gloves.
Several others from the Whimsy Stamps creative team are also sharing inspiration with these sets. You can check them out here...

Sleepy Sloth Tropical Oasis

This little Sleepy Sloth sure looks like he's pretty contented relaxing in his tropical oasis.

I started out with a kraft matte and stamped the stars from the NEW Sleepy Sloth clear stamp set onto the top portion.

Then I used the Burlap Background (love the subtle texture this pattern adds), and stamped it onto a Pierced and Stitched Circle.

For the bottom portion of the card I used the NEW Build-an-Island Die Set and cut it out twice, once from brown card stock and once from green card stock. Then just cut off the green palm fronds and layered them on top of the brown fronds.

The Sleepy Sloth was stamped on white card stock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. Then I layered him onto the burlap circle with foam tape and also added foam tape to the circle as well.

The sentiment was stamped on the same kraft card stock and popped up on foam tape for added dimension. The I matted everything onto a dark brown card base.

My mojo wasn't mojoing very well when I started on this card but I think it turned out pretty cute...what do you think?

I hope you relax and enjoy your day!

Quick Checkerboard Doodles Birthday Card

Whaddya think of the NEW Whimsy Stamps Checkerboard Doodles background stamp?

I'm lovin' this stamp, it's so much fun and forgiving of any "mistakes"! And talk about quick cards, this background along with one of the Whimsy Stamps Word and Shadow dies makes for a speedy 10 minute card.

I simply stamped the Checkerboard Doodle background with black ink on a plain white card matte and colored the sections with colored pencils. You could use any color medium for varied effects.

Then I used the Celebrate Word and Shadow die for the sentiment and popped it up on foam tape.

Then matted it onto a black card base and it was done...super easy peasy and only two products!

Ocean Scene Happy Birthday Card

I love underwater scene cards and the NEW Ocean Stencil coupled with the NEW Wavy Nested Frames dies makes for a great combination to build ocean scenes.

I first used the largest of the Wavy Nested dies and cut out the opening from a white 4.25x5.5 card matte. You can't see it in the pic but I also added a clear transparency sheet in front of the opening which has a much better effect in real life.

I also cut out one of the smaller Wavy Nested dies from a kraft colored card stock, and sponged on some ink for the ocean floor.

On a white card base I sponged on some blue inks all over the whole front. And then used the Ocean Stencil and various ink colors to quickly and easily build my underwater scene. Once it was the way I wanted it I sprinkled on a little water for the background.

The sentiment is from the NEW Sleepy Sloths clear stamp set, and I cut it out using one of the Quick Strips dies (my fav). I also used the Ocean Stencil to add the little blue fish.

Before I added the Wavy Nested Frame to my scene which is popped up on foam tape, I added a few sequins as bubbles.

I'm having fun making summer cards, be sure to check out the rest of the Whimsy Stamps June NEW release, there's lots of great summer products for you to enjoy.

Have a great day!
